Ms. Yao is of counsel to Watson and Band Law Offices and an Arbitrator of Shanghai Arbitration Committee.

After graduating from Fudan University Law College, Ms. Yao entered the Shanghai Municipal Intermediate People's Court in 1980 and acted as judge and presiding judge of the Criminal Division and Economic Division. She was transferred to the Shanghai Municipal Supreme People's Court in 1995 and acted as the presiding judge of the Economic Division and the Judgment Supervision Division. Some cases judged by her are included in the Precedent Collection of the P.R.C compiled by the Supreme People's Court.

Ms. Yao is an arbitrator of the Shanghai Arbitration Committee.

Ms. Yao is experienced in criminal, economic, financial and future cases in trial of first and second instance and trial supervision.
