Recently, the Shanghai Arbitration Committee and Watson & Band held a seminar titled “Several Measures for Civil and Commercial Trials in Response to the Financial Crisis” in the Shanghai Party Institute on South Hongcao Road. Former Deputy President of the Supreme People’s Court and Honored Director of the Shanghai Arbitration Committee Mr. Guoguang Li gave an impressive lecture at the seminar.

Based on the new judicial interpretation promulgated by the Supreme People’s Court on the application of the PRC Contract Law, Mr. Li explained a number of profound matters in a simple way, such as issues that should be mastered during the trial of civil and commercial contract disputes, suggestions for better handling contract disputes in connection with real estate, opinions about the general situation of IPR protection, and policies relating to the assignment of defective creditor’s rights. The attendees profited a lot from Mr. Li’s lecture and agreed that the lecture would be of great benefit to their future practices.
